2011 Global Village
Performing Arts & Story Tellers
Global Village
Visit us in Old Sacramento on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Fun, cultural education for the whole family, the Sacramento World Music & Dance Festival Global Village is a one- day, interactive and engaging venue in a large tent with entertaining young performers, storytelling, demonstrations, and hands-on education opportunities. You’ll also see exhibits that represent the arts, clothing, writing and other aspects of the cultures involved in the festival. This is a fun and informative hands-on way for visitors to learn more about the cultural heritages of the greater Sacramento region.
The Global Village offers visitors a chance to travel the world without leaving town. Using a “passport” issued at the event, children and adults will learn more about Sacramento’s diverse cultures by visiting booths where each specific culture will provide innovative and exciting interactive educational opportunities. Passports are stamped at each station. When all the passport spaces are filled, children can exchange their passports for a prize. Adults and children alike will be inspired by the many participants of the Sacramento World Music & Dance Festival’s Global Village!
