You are invited to be part of a spectacular presentation of world cultures, ethnic dance and live musical performances on Sunday, October 2nd at the 4th Annual Sacramento World Music & Dance Festival in historic Old Sacramento.
Old Sacramento will be transformed into a FREE family festival featuring:
- World class dance and music performances
- Artistry
- cultural education
- Culinary Events (Spices from Around the World)
- Children’s theater performances throughout the day.
- The festival includes an opportunity for youth and adults to experience cultural awareness through art, clothing, storytelling and dance workshops.
You will meet attendees who echo Sacramento’s demographics. According to a National Endowment for the Arts study, “47 million people attended at least one outdoor performing arts festival. Festival audiences also, on average, are more diverse than those for many other types of live art events… and seem to more closely resemble the general population than do other groups of art-goers.”
You have an opportunity to interact with up to 10,000 attendees this year who represent Sacramento’s demographics. There are two ways you can participate. The Global Village and Community Outreach. The Global Village is an educational opportunity to teach children and families about the uniqueness of specific cultures. For example, River City School District brought in African hand-made instruments for children to see, play and learn from. Participating organizations must provide tools that teach and showcase a specific culture in the Global Village. Global Village also includes children’s storytelling, poetry and talks in the Old Eagle Theater and a nearby stage nearby for young performers to share their cultural talent.
You can also increase your visibility by having your own booth in the Community Outreach area where you can showcase your organization and reach new audiences. If you would like to have a booth focused solely on your organization, please see the attached document.
We will greatly appreciate your participation in this year’s festival. We will use a variety of publicity and social media marketing tools to invite as many people as possible to this FREE event to spread cultural understanding and tolerance through the arts. We’re sure your organization will benefit from partnering with us and having your name listed on our program guide. We depend on your help to make this community event a success and look forward to hearing from you.
